Your own CGI folder
Each account has its own CGI folder available, in which CGI/PL scripts can be run. For security reasons, we make use of Suexec, so all scripts have to run from this folder and have permissions set to CHMOD 755.
Frontpage extensions
If your homepage is created using Frontpage, then you can - thanks to the Frontpage extensions - make use of specific functions only used by Frontpage. This includes publication on the internet, as well as the Mail Form and Guestbook. Frontpage extensions can be installed and uninstalled via your control panel.
CGI, PHP, SSI
CGI and PHP are programming languuages, used to create dynamic websites. With these you can create forum systems, guestbooks, counters and much more. Naturally you can use existing scripts any exiting scripts based on CGI/PHP.
Parked Domains
Channel several domains to the same Homepage. This makes sense, when you have both a .ch and a .com Domain, which have the same content. In this way, you don't require two separate hosting accounts! Naturally, your control panel enables you to create separate email addresses for domain aliases as well as viewing the statistics for each domain.
Addon Domains
You can have as many domains pointing to your hosting account as you wish. This can be useful, if have, say a .ch and .com domain, both of which have the same content. This means that you don't require two separate hosting accounts!
POP3 accounts
With POP3 accounts you can create individual mailboxes to be used in conjunction with, for example, Outlook Express to send and receive emails. In your control panel, you can create email addresses in the form of somename@yourdomain.ch
Webspace
The term webspace refers to the amount of memory available to you. Within this, your Homepage, your POP3 email accounts as well as any temporary data files are stored. If you every need more webspace, then you can upgrade at any time to a product with more memory.
Traffic per month
The term "Traffic" is used to define all data transfer which takes place on your homepage. This includes incoming and outgoing traffic as well as email traffic. Some hosting companies offer unlimited data transfer, which is impossible to fulfill. For this reason, we have set a very high limit on data traffic. For example, the popular website www.topboard.net uses about 750 Mb per month.
Mail alias, Autoresponder
For each email address you can add an autoresponder, for example, when you're going on holiday. This way you can inform your respondents with an automated answer which tells them that you are unavailable and when you'll be back again. The mail alias is a stnfard email address, which catches all emails for which no specific POP3 account exists.
Password protected folders
In your control panel, you have the ability to protect your folders with a password. This is useful, if you want to create a members only area, where only those with the password can gain access.
Webmail interface
If you are not at home, then you can still access your emails using any computer with internet access. You need neither Outlook Express or any special configuration. Access to your Webmail is available in your members area.
FTP access
FTP access is the easiest way to publish your data in the internet. For this, you need a suitable FTP programme. We recommend SmartFTP or CuteFTP (both of which can be found at www.download.com). They work like the data Explorer in Windows and enable you to copy your data to your account.
Access to the domain administration tool
You can manage your hosting account with the administration tool. Here can, e.g. create your email addresses, create a database or just look at your statistics. It's available in both English and German.

MySQL Databases
MySQL is a database in which you can create tables to save data from, e.g., guestbooks or forums. You can manage the databases by use of phpMyAdmin from the control panel.
Shared SSL Certificate
We have installed a shared SSL certificate on all our servers, to encrypt the connection between the browser and the website. If, for example, you want to collect credit card information in a shop on your homepage, then we recommend the use of our SSL certificate for security reasons.

PhpMyAdmin Access
We have installed PhpMyAdmin to help with the administration of the MySQL databases. With this tool, you can create tabels in your database or search for data, for example.
Your own SSL Certificate
A SSL Certificate made out to your own domain name. For example: https://www.yourdomain.ch. Technically, it provides the same encryption as a sherad certificate, but customer trust is likely to be enhanced when the certificate is made out in your own name. For online shops, this is often a key decision factor for customers before making the final choice of supplier.
